Course programme

The course starts from the foundations of biology and leads to the May / September 2026 Intermediate Biology MATSEC examination. The course starts in October, but anyone can start attending lessons at any point in the course. We cover all the content in the Biology Intermediate (IM) 2026 syllabus. No prior knowledge of biology is required for this course.

Where? When? How much?

Lessons are held in class in Birkirkara or online with a link provided by the tutor. Lessons are 2 hours long and the fee is €19 per lesson. Lessons are held every Saturday from 3pm to 5pm.

Who is this course for?

An intermediate biology pass at Grade C or better is required for prospective Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) students offered by the University of Malta, together with the general entry requirements for the university. This course can also be very useful for prospective nursing and mental health nursing students who do not have other qualifications in biology. Anyone over 16 who wishes to start learning biology should opt for this course, even without an ordinary level biology qualification.
