Part-Time Biology Educational Associate

Biologymalta is seeking a highly competent Biology graduate, postgraduate student, or teacher confident in biology education up to pre-University level. The ideal candidate must possess strong digital skills and a forward-thinking approach to education.

This is a part-time freelance role, working roughly 5 hours per week at a rate of €25 per hour (depending on experience). Role is envisaged to run until the end of the current 2025-2026 scholastic year, with the possibility of an extension.

The Role

You will ensure the quality of educational materials while driving the digital evolution of our services. Key responsibilities may include:

  • Assessment: Marking student assessments and writing high-quality model answers.

  • Curriculum: Updating, reviewing, and proofreading study notes.

  • Digital Transformation: Assisting in the digitisation of educational services and resources.

  • Web Presence: Managing content updates and maintaining the business web presence.

  • Student Support: Providing academic guidance and assessment preparation.

Requirements

  • Academic: Degree level or higher in Biology. Biology or science education undergraduate with excellent grades will be considered.

  • Pedagogy: Professional teaching experience is not strictly required but a passion for science and familiarity with MATSEC Biology syllabi and exams at all levels is essential. The possession of a teaching warrant will be considered an asset.

  • Digital Proficiency: Strong computing skills and familiarity with AI-assisted learning tools. Coding or web-development skills are not essential but will be considered an asset.
